I started my career in journalism by producing newscasts for KUSI-News in San Diego from 2014-2016. Then I moved to Las Vegas, NV to be a producer at the KTNV News, The ABC affiliate in the region. While at KTNV I was new producer Monday to Wednesday, and on weekends I was the the morning show's Executive Producer.
Besides my normal duties as a producer, I also helped writing reporter and anchor packages, and by doing this it has allowed me to hone my skills as a journalist, writer and producer. Below is just a few of my endeavors.
The 11pm newscast that I produced at KUSI-News in San Diego consistently ranked as the top Nielsen rated 11pm newscast in the San Diego Market (Market 25.)
All newscasts/packages/segments were produced and written by Colton Salaz. All clips from GMLV are from weekend newscasts I produced while at KTNV Las Vegas. The weekend shows consistently had 3.5 Nielsen rating in our 6 a.m. hour. All reporter packages were written by Colton Salaz.
